Visit of Professor Mazza of the National University of Comahue (Argentina)

SIGMA Clermont was delighted to welcome its ARFITEC Chemical Engineering project partner the National University of Comahue (Argentina), represented by Professor German Mazza, on 26th and 27th November last. This mission followed those made by SIGMA Clermont delegations to Argentina in February 2017 and April 2018.

During the two-day visit, Professor Mazza, the International Relations Office and the Chemical Engineering Department first took the time to exchange ideas about potential future collaborations between our two institutions. The program then consisted of three key parts:

  1. First, discussions were held in order to establish the bases of a dual degree program for French and Argentinian students in chemistry and mechanical engineering.
  2. Next, a guided visit of the Chemical Engineering, Energy and Biosystems platform was organized. This resulted in a decision to work together on research projects in chemical engineering, Professor Mazza being a specialist in this field.
  3. Finally, a wrap-up meeting with the International Relations team enabled a roadmap to be set up for the implementation of future projects.

At the end of the two days, the Head of SIGMA Clermont’s chemical engineering department and his team were invited to Argentina to better get to know the National University of Comahue and to pursue exchanges in other fields.
