Research & innovation

SIGMA Clermont's scientific policy is founded on pooling resources with those of Université Clermont Auvergne and the CNRS. The engineering school is a signatory of the agreement of June 13, 2013, with the other universities in Clermont-Ferrand and the CNRS.

Through this agreement, the signatories converge towards the same objectives:

  • strengthening their areas of excellence (research in chemistry / advanced mechanics)
  • the emergence of new research themes through an interdisciplinary approach
  • concerted socio-economic development of scientific advances
  • strengthening of international collaborations

SIGMA Clermont's teaching programs are backed by excellent fundamental research carried out in its 3 research laboratories.

A key feature of SIGMA Clermont's research is its natural affiliation with a wide range of industrial partners, from large corporations to SMEs. Partnership research accounts for 75% of the school's research contracts. SIGMA Clermont is a founding member of the two laboratories shared with Michelin: FactoLab and SiMatLab.
