Student life

SIGMA Clermont: a unique student experience at a leading engineering school

Located in the heart of Clermont-Ferrand, SIGMA Clermont is much more than just an engineering school. Here, academic excellence goes hand in hand with a focus on students’ well-being throughout their studies.

An environment conducive to personal and academic fulfilment

SIGMA Clermont is located in an exceptional environment, a stone's throw from the city of Clermont-Ferrand and the soothing landscapes of the Auvergne volcanoes. Situated on the Cézeaux campus, the school is equipped with state-of-the-art technological facilities and laboratories and offers a dynamic community life that combines well-being with academic success.

The school is committed to ensuring the well-being of its students, as their personal development is a key factor in their success.

A rich community life

With more than 40 clubs and societies, SIGMA offers everyone the opportunity to find their place and express their talents and desires:

  • BDS (Sports Office), sports clubs and leisure activities: football, rugby, basketball, pétanque... There's something for everyone!
  • Cultural and community associations: artistic projects, humanitarian or ecological trips.
  • BDE (Student Union) and festive events: orientation weekends, theme nights and cultural outings.

Affordable and accessible accommodation

Clermont-Ferrand, a city on a human scale, offers affordable student accommodation options close to campus: university residences, shared flats or individual flats, etc. The school supports its students in their efforts to find accommodation suited to their needs based on available properties. Students also support each other by offering alternatives to newcomers in case of difficulty.

Events to punctuate the year

Some of the main annual student events:

  • Integration: at the beginning of the year, the BDE (student union) takes charge of integrating new students, helping them discover the school and Clermont-Ferrand, and meet other students!
  • International Week: to discover new cultures and exchange ideas with engineering students returning from abroad.
  • SIGMA Gala: a prestigious evening that brings together engineering students, teachers, staff, industry partners and alumni, with a focus on sharing.

Clermont-Ferrand: A student city on a human scale

With nearly 40,000 students, Clermont-Ferrand is a welcoming and dynamic city. In addition to its bars, cinemas and festivals, it offers quick access to nature: hiking, skiing or paragliding in the Auvergne mountains.

Training for a promising future

SIGMA prepares its students for ambitious careers in chemistry, advanced mechanics and industrial engineering. Internships, industrial projects and links with companies ensure successful professional integration.
